Singapore Airlines is renowned globally for its outstanding premium offerings, which are distinguished by exceptional service, luxurious accommodations, and gourmet food and beverage selections. Though awards have historically been hard or impossible to book with most partner airlines, a new development has just surfaced: Singapore Airlines tickets are now bookable with Avianca LifeMiles. As with all things that seem too good to be true, the catch is that I only see availability between Singapore and Jakarta. Nevertheless, this is a potentially valuable redemption.
Plentiful availability and attractive pricing
First, let’s delve into the exciting news: I recently noticed Singapore Airlines award availability using Avianca LifeMiles. Availability over the next few months appears to be plentiful with multiple seats bookable throughout June and July. Certain days have multiple available flights, with up to eight business class award seats available on a single flight.
The prices are also quite attractive: 40,000 miles for first class and (more excitingly, I think) just 15,000 miles for business class.
One caveat
Now, onto the catch: the newly bookable first-class awards are currently only available on flights between Jakarta and Singapore. For those living in or traveling to these areas, this new option represents a fantastic opportunity to experience Singapore Airlines’ 777 first or business class service (as well as the airline’s A350 business class) at a potentially significant discount. For example, one-way business class tickets are going for between $700 and $1,300 over the next several months, which means redeeming this award would mean getting five cents or more per point. That’s a great value.
While the route between Jakarta and Singapore is relatively short–approximately 1.5 hours–it still offers an excellent opportunity to get a taste of Singapore’s excellent premium cabins that whet your appetite for more. It’s also a phenomenal opportunity to visit the Singapore Airlines Private Room First Class Lounge, among the best lounges on the planet.
Conclusion
While the news that Singapore Airlines First Class is now bookable with Avianca LifeMiles comes with a limitation, it still represents an exciting development for avid travelers and LifeMiles holders. It’s an opportunity to taste the unparalleled luxury that Singapore Airlines offers, even if it’s only for a short hop between Jakarta and Singapore. With a little creative planning, this could be the beginning of more routes opening up to LifeMiles redemptions in the future.
Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities–I’ll be monitoring LifeMiles closely over the next few days and weeks. Here’s hoping for more positive developments.

All SQ availability ( including in economy) in lifemiles is now gone!
Good call! They must have pulled inventory. This has happened before so I’m expecting availability to come back.
if you spend some time seaching you can find first CGK-SIN then business SIN-HND/NRT for I think 36,000 miles. I have not found it the other way though
Oh interesting, that’s pretty great value.
Slight limitation? Talk about a misleading lede
Why’s it misleading, Arturo? I mentioned the fact that there’s a catch in the title, intro, and throughout the post. I’ve now omitted the word “slight” if that helps.
